Janessa

Janessa, Part Time Nanny

Who is Janessa?

Janessa is a caring and compassionate individual, whose calm and engaging approach to childcare has established many long-lasting relationships with both the children and the parents for whom she has worked.  Janessa is an OFSTED registered Nanny.

She started her career in childcare as an au pair whilst on her gap year, which enabled her to gain valuable experience and at the same time, discover new cultures and lifestyles. She then worked as a nanny alongside studying for her degree in English and French at the University of Warwick. After graduating with a 2:1 BA Hons in the summer of 2011, she has worked in a range of different households, in both part and full-time positions.

 What is her childcare experience?

Janessa has experience as a nanny with newborns, up to the age of 7, as well as babysitting for older children. She is capable of caring for multiple children at once, including in nanny share positions. She is comfortable establishing and/or following a routine, as well as potty training, weaning and those terrible tantrums.

Janessa feels that being a nanny is one of the most important careers as they play such a vital role in a child’s life. Childhood shapes who we are as an adult, and Janessa believes that nurturing and encouraging a child’s independence and self-esteem through acting as a positive role model whilst parents are working is hugely important.

Janessa enjoys a busy lifestyle, often going to the theatre and cinema, visiting family and friends and (trying to!) swim daily. She is a lover of the outdoors, especially the mountains and has been lucky enough to spend two seasons in ski resorts. She has caught the travelling bug, exploring much of S. E. Asia, Africa and Europe, as well as hiking to Mount Everest base camp! Janessa enjoys a challenge, and feels that caring for children certainly poses its own, very different but rewarding challenges.

Why choose her?

“I am captivated by the many spontaneous and entertaining things that children do and say. Helping a child develop, helping them through the ups and downs of growing up is the most rewarding career path I could have chosen, and I feel privileged to have found a career that makes me so happy.”
