Who is Charlotte?
Charlotte is a 24 year old creative, fun and friendly person who enjoys playing music, composing, cycling, meeting new people and exploring London. Raised in Somerset, she had a happy childhood with no TV and lots of outdoors activities including horse riding, hockey and netball. In her early teens she began to take singing seriously and was soon singing with the BBC Singers, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Joss Stone and James Browns Band. Since leaving Somerset in her late teens, she has studied at two of the worlds most prestigious Contemporary Music schools, Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and The Academy of Contemporary Music. It was at ACM that she received the Outstanding Student Award, as well as a First Class BMus Honours Degree. She then moved to London in 2012 to further her music career and gain experience in teaching.
What is her childcare experience?
Charlotte has a wealth of childcare experience under her belt. In her late teens she began babysitting her neighbours 3 boys regularly. After her degree she became an before/after school Nanny for a 5 year old (incredibly energetic!) girl. Her main tasks were to take her to and from school, play with her, cook her healthy meals, bath her, read to her and tuck her into bed.
She was then offered a year long post as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant and she was soon selected to be trained as an RWI Tutor at the school, teaching children to read and write using phonics. As well as teaching a class of 30 children to read and write, she also acted as a 1:1 support for a child with Global Delay. Other daily tasks included looking after a severely autistic child for an hour a day, assisting the teacher during lessons, providing guidance and support to the lowest ability children in the class. On top of all of this, she also began a Year 1 choir which she taught once a week on her lunch break. The choir became so popular that all 90 children in the year wanted to join!
Charlotte has a full UK Drivers License, an up to date DBS Certificate and she is more than happy to do first aid training if requested.
Why choose her?
Not only does Charlotte have a wide range of childcare experience, she also has a natural flare with children due to being a big child at heart! Alongside this, she has a real passion for the arts so she is more than happy to teach your child new skills, be it playing an instrument, singing, acting, arts and crafts. Her teaching and nanny experience combined means she is very good under pressure and has all the skills necessary to keep your child happy, healthy and entertained.
